Patrick Regan is a man on a mission. Trained by the Royal Marines to take the fight to the enemy and to fight them on his terms, he has come to realise that there is a war being waged at home. The insidious Russian Mafia has its sights set on complete domination of organised crime in Great Britain. The British authorities are being undermined by the mafias intimidation, bribery and corruption, the mafias tentacles have spread to the very top of MI5, but now Regan is hunting on home soil and the Russian Mafia are his prey. Join him today as he is fighting on The British FrontLine.
Desert Overwatch is a well-crafted short military thriller. The cast of interesting characters includes several members of a unit of Royal Marines on deployment in the middle east, as well as a parallel story of their families back home. I found the in-theater scenes more interesting than the home-front scenes, but you get a sense that the story is building up to a climax where both threads are important.
As an American, I found it interesting and refreshing to see the war through the eyes of some of our British allies’ soldiers, which breathed new life into the Iraq war genre for me. This appears to be a prequel for more books to come, and I see the author has released the next book in the series already (The British Front Line), which I’m looking forward to reading.
Excellent book….loads of action, great characters and a plot that isn’t overly complicated. Bit far fetched in a few places but doesn’t seem to matter, the story rolls on at a pace that keeps the reader a lot more than interested. Loved it, read it in a day. ,
Brilliant follow up. Great characters and plot thoroughly enjoyed. Worth more than 5 stars
Great easy read, enjoyed the family aspect.. quite a twist at the end.. good page turner, didn’t want to put it down..
THIS STORY TAKES YOU IN RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING AND IT MADE ME FEEL AS THOUGH I WAS THERE WATCHING THE ACTIVITY. I WOULD READ MORE FROM THIS AUTHOR.
